“Magic” is a new play presented by Unity Concepts, Inc. starring founder, R. Okpara Danjuma.
Set in New Orleans of the late seventies and early eighties, the play tells the story of Fortier “Magic” Duplessis, leader of the soul singing group Magic and Thee Soul Mystiks. The play chronicles the sometimes harsh environment of New Orleans, through M The group discovers it’s easy to make to the top, but very difficult to remain on top.
The story rides along the torrential social and cultural realities of New Orleans during the time.
